7 Key aspects of a web design (for curious)

We realise that many entrepreneurs may not have time to delve into the details of programming ( and that's okay!). Especially for them we prepared the depiction of 7 key aspects, which have to be taken into consideration before creating a satisfying web design. Remember that poorly prepared website will not be profitable, on the contrary it will be an unnecessary expense.

1. First impression after loading a web design

If you read this text, you are a part of 15% of our web design users. We have about 5 seconds to make a good impression. After that a potential customer decides, if your company is noteworthy. If you immediately make a positive impression, your chances of conversion will increase. Point 2 explains what exactly conversions are.

2. Customers interactions (conversions)

Let's start from what conversion is. It is expected action of a potential customer. This is best demonstrated on the example. The potential client goes to a website and completes the form, sends the request for estimation, calls the company's office or uses live chat. Each of these actions is an example of conversion. The website creator's task is to prepare such project that maximises the number of conversions. Do you have questions about the website? Leave us your phone number. We will call you back.

3. Responsiveness

In 2019, about 78% of internet traffic was generated by using mobile devices. If a web design struggles to display properly on mobile devices, its owner can lose his potential clients, who will probably choose competing offers. Remember that a website should be examined by its creator on all of the latest mobile devices ( and others). Its display is determined by, among others, the size of the selected device, the type of browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Opera, IE) or operating system (iOS, Android, Windows).

4. SEO optimisation (Search Engine Optimisation)

Without proper web design optimisation it is impossible to appear on the first page on Google. What is it? Robots index data gathered from websites and save them in a database. Collected data are investigated according to an algorithm created by Google team. At this moment the most crucial for positioning, among others, are the amount of unique content and their regular updating on a website (the more often, the better). In SEO it is important to place chosen keywords in proper headings on a web design - h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6.

Consider that positioning on the local market (e.g. web designs Sheffield) is easier, due to less competition. In case of popular services it is challenging and time consuming to appear in TOP 10 in England, but is possible. The second aspect to think of are links to your web designs. They can come from your or some other web design (optimally of a related theme).

5. Sources of website traffic

There are various sources of web design traffic. You can use only some of them depending on specifics of the industry. You can choose between: natural search engine results (SEO and positioning), paid search engine links (Google Ads - formerly AdWords), banner ads on other web designs (Google Ads), YouTube ads (Google Ads), entries to the web design on the recommendation (word of mouth, your clients' facebook, business cards), access to the page from social media (profile of your business).

6. Analysis of visitor's behaviour

Most website users are briefly familiarised with their content. We can find confirmation of this thesis, for example in Google Analytics or in many different "tracking" tools. On their basis we can precisely determine, among others, sources of visits, duration of visits on individual tabs of the web design, number of conversions, geolocation of visitors. The investigation of visitor's behaviour is the base of website development. Do you think that numbers are not enough? For especially demanding customers we can create a script that saves video recordings of the users browser window on the websites.

7. Website maintenance and security

Wide range of programmers do not recognise how important is a server, on which web design or web app are situated. We pay attention to efficiency and safety of components depending on the type of project. However, in order to understand well this aspect, special knowledge about SysOps and DevOps is required, which you don't need to have. The amount of disk space, the regularity of making autonomous backup copies of files and the database (optimally if such a copy is created daily), the cost of restoring the backup of files and the database (preferably if it is 0 GBP), are universal aspects, which should be looked-out.
