7 Key aspects of a web design (for curious)

We recognise that the majority of entrepreneurs do not have time to go into details of programming (and it's nothing bad!). Especially for them we prepared the depiction of 7 key assumptions, which have to be scrutinised before creating a good web design. Remember that badly prepared web design will not bring you any profit, on the contrary it will generate unnecessary costs.

1. First impression after loading a web design

If you read this text, then you're in a group of 15% of our website users. We have approximately 5 seconds to make a positive impression. Then a potential customer decides if your business is worth his notice. If you make a positive impression from the start, your chances for conversion will increase. We wrote what the conversions are in point 2.

2. Customers interactions (conversions)

Let's start from an explanation of what conversion is. It is anticipated action of a potential customer. This is best demonstrated on the example. The potential client goes to a website and completes the form, sends the request for estimation, calls the company or uses live chat. All of the mentioned actions are examples of conversion. The role of the website designer is to create such project that maximises the amount of conversions. Do you have questions about the website? Leave us your phone number.

3. Responsiveness

In 2019, approximately 78% of internet traffic was caused by using mobile devices. If a web design can't be opened accurately on mobile devices, its owner loses his potential customers, who will presumably use other offers. Remember that a website should be tested by its designer on numerous latest mobile devices (and not only). The display of a web design is affected by, among others, device size, the kind of browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome, Opera, IE) or operating system (iOS, Android, Windows).

4. SEO optimisation (Search Engine Optimisation)

To be on the first page on Google demands accurate website optimisation. What is it? Robots index data collected from websites and retain them in database. Gathered information is analysed according to an algorithm prepared by Google specialists. At this moment the greatest impact on positioning, among others, has the amount of unique content and regularity of its update on a website. (The more often you do this, the better). A paramount element of SEO is to place chosen keywords in proper headings on a website - h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6.

Take into account that local positioning (e.g. web designs Nottingham) is much easier, due to smaller competition on the market. Within common services it is difficult and time consuming to be in TOP 10 England, however it is possible. Next aspect to consider are links to your web design. They may come from your own web design, as well as some other website.

5. Sources of website traffic

The sources of web design traffic are numerous. Depending on specifics of the industry you can use only selected ones. You can choose from: natural search engine results (SEO and positioning), paid search engine links (Google Ads - formerly AdWords), banner ads on other esigns (Google Ads), YouTube ads (Google Ads), entries to the web designs on the recommendation (word of mouth, your clients' facebook, business cards), access to the page from social media (your business' profile).

6. Analysis of visitor's behaviour

Many web design users only briefly familiarise with their content. This thesis can be validated, for example by Google Analytics and many other "tracking" tools. Because of them we can accurately establish specified sources of visits, duration of visits on individual tabs of the web design, number of conversions, geolocation of visitors and others. The analysis of visitor's behaviour is crucial for web design development. Do you think that numbers are not enough? For highly demanding customers we propose a creation of a script, that saves video recordings of the users browser window on the websites.

7. Website maintenance and security

Wide range of programmers do not recognise how substantial is the server, on which web design or web app are situated. We focus on efficiency and safety of components depending on the kind of project. However, to understand this aspect properly, specialistic knowledge about SysOps and DevOps is necessary, which you don't need to have. Universal issues that should be taken into consideration are the amount of disk space, the regularity of making independent backup copies of files and the database (the best if such a copy is created daily), the cost of restoring the backup of files and the database (preferably if it is 0 GBP).
